These Paint Colors Will Dominate in 2025, According to Sherwin-Williams

Sherwin-Williams just released its 2025 color trend forecast, which includes four different palettes.

Every year, major paint brands predict the colors they think will be most popular the following calendar year—and the forecasts have already started to roll in. Today, Sherwin-Williams announced its 2025 Colormix Forecast: Capsules, which is comprised of 48 hand-selected trending colors that will dominate interiors and exteriors next year.

The collection is organized into four capsules: Chrysalis, Paradox, Wellspring, and Kindred. Each capsule aims to tell a deeper story behind the colors inside a home, offering a place where everyone can find something to suit their space and style.

While last year's Colormix Forecast was divided into color families—blues and greens, reds and purples, deeps and darks, and delicate tints—each palette in the 2025 collection has its own theme and emotion it aims to provoke.

"The 2025 Colormix Forecast reveals that we all yearn for authenticity, and the most authentic approach is leaning into color that speaks to you personally," Sue Wadden, Sherwin-Williams Director of Color Marketing, told MarthaStewart.com. "There is a fresh outlook on trends for 2025, and each capsule collection speaks to different personalities and home aesthetics."

Designed to evoke a peaceful feeling, this palette features colors inspired by wood tones, sands, and freshly turned earth. "Chrysalis perfectly aligns with the Japandi aesthetic since they’re both aimed at creating sanctuary spaces and evoking peacefulness and intention," says Wadden.

Paradox

Paradox leans into the dopamine décor trend that's taking off right now. It features electric brights, grounding neutrals, and candy-coated accents, all designed to make spaces more cheerful. "With its exuberant and unexpected colors full of contrasts, it’s the ideal choice for an eclectic design look," Wadden says of the Paradox capsule.

Wellspring

If your home has a midcentury modern aesthetic, Wellspring is the color palette for you. The colors included in this capsule are traditional, timeless, and functional says Wadden. From mystical blues to meditative midtones, these shades will help connect you to the natural world.

Kindred

Maximalists will love this palette, says Wadden. "It's filled with all different kinds of colors from brights, to pastels, to darks, all working to create a diverse space," she says. The Kindred capsule features a collection of warm neutrals and bold deeps.
