But if you sleep on one, you may want to check the manufacturer—Avocado Mattress is recalling 55,480 mattress pads due to risk of fire hazard, according to an announcement by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The subject of the recall involves Avocado-branded Organic Cotton Mattress Pad Protectors sold in sizes Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. The quilted-style mattress pads are made of cotton ticking and cotton fiber full. A law label printed with "Model SFMPAVORG," manufacturer name, date of delivery, date of manufacture, fiber content, and washing instructions is attached to the mattress pad. Over 3 Million Steam Cleaners Recalled Due to Burn Reports—Some Models Spontaneously Expel Hot Water The recalled mattress pads were sold nationwide in stores and and online from January 2019 through March 2024 for between $200 and $370. Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Avocado Green Mattress for a free replacement. To receive a new mattress pad, consumers must cut the mattress pad in half, and mark the date and initial the law label attached to the mattress pad.
