Strawberries, grapefruit, and lime are macerated in sugar, an orange liqueur like Cointreau or Triple Sec, and either vodka or tequila (your choice!). This boozy mixture needs at least four hours for the flavors to mingle, but you can make it up to a day ahead, a boon when you're hosting. When it’s time to serve, simply divide the macerated fruits and sangria mixture between serving glasses and top off with dry red wine. Add a splash of seltzer to each glass if you like. It's that easy—and so good. 25 Pitcher Drinks Just Right for a Party Sidney Bensimon Ingredients 1 small grapefruit, quartered and thinly sliced (1 cup) 1 lime, quartered and thinly sliced (¼ cup) 2 cups hulled and halved strawberries (quartered, if large) 5 tablespoons sugar ½ cup vodka or blanco tequila ¼ cup Cointreau or other orange liqueur Frozen fruit, for serving (optional) 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine, chilled, for serving Seltzer or citrus soda, for serving (optional) Directions Macerate fruit and refrigerate: Toss fresh fruits with sugar, vodka, and Cointreau.
