This bombshell breakfast blends gut-healing kefir and sweet strawberries to make a tart, creamy foundation for toppings like sliced bananas, granola, and a touch of antioxidant-rich cocoa powder.

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces frozen strawberries (2 ¼ cups)

  • 1 cup unsweetened whole-milk kefir

  • 1 tablespoon date syrup, plus more for serving

  • Sliced bananas, for topping

  • Granola, for topping

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for topping

Directions

  1. In a food processor or high-powered blender, puree strawberries, kefir, and date syrup until thick and smooth, adding more kefir as needed.

  2. Serve in bowls, topped with bananas, granola, cocoa powder, and more date syrup.

Cook's Notes

You can substitute buttermilk for the kefir in this recipe.
